On the Feast of Theophany (Sunday, January 19, 2020) parish faithful joined Fr. Michael in the blessing of the Raritan Bay. Two ice crosses were made and thrown into the water along with the blessing. Plans are to make this an annual event, as the last time it was done was January 2014.
On Saturday January 18, 2020, parishioners gathered to celebrate the Second Holy Night Supper (Velija) and maintain this pious tradition in our diocese. Following the gathering, fiathful joined together in the Church for the Vigil Service of Theophany and Great Blessing of Water!
On Sunday June 23, St. John's recognized all of her graduates and gave special recognition to those High School Seniors heading off to college. A full description of accomplishements and plans can be found in the weekly bulletin.

On Friday Evening April 19, St. John's hosted the 10th and final NY/NJ Deanery Mission. The Liturgy of the Pre-Sanctified Gifts was celebrated with a large crowd of people. The Celebrant was the Very Rev. John Pribish. Homilist was Rev. Fr. Kenneth Ellis.
On Sunday, January 13, 2019, the parish of St. John's honored Protodeacon, Gregory Benc on his 20th Anniuversary of Ordination with family and friends followed by a surprse party in the parish hall. A sermon was prepared by Diocesan Chancellor Fr. Frank Miloro (uncle) who was unable to attend the celebration. The parish officers presented a combined parish gift to the deacon for the purchase of new vestments and a cassock. The gathering was filled with joy and thanksgiving for his service to St. John's Church and the Diocese.
The Servant of God, Daniel Samuel Matolak was baptized on April 18, 2018.
St. John's celebrated the radiant Feast of the Resurrection of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Many parishioners gathered for the Divine Liturgy and Basket Blessing after services. A Paschal Meal was held in the Parish Hall following the festivities. Christ is Risen! Indeed He Risen! Christos Voskres! Voistinnu Voskres!
During the weekend of September 08-10, the parish celebrated their 120th Anniversary. His Grace Bishop Gregory was present for the festivities the entire weekend.
On Friday Evening the Miraculous Myrrh-Streaming Icon of the Kardiotissa (Taylor, PA) was present for an uplifting and comforting service.
On Saturday morning, a Divine Liturgy was held in memory of the founders, builders and benefactors of the parish. During that time, the entire list of church diptychs were recited during the Liturgy and a candle was lit for every family name recorded. Later that evening, a Deanery Vespers service was held with faithful and friends gathered for prayer. An elegant wine tasting reception was held afterwards in the church hall.
Sunday morning the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace Bishop Gregory. The service was preceeded by the consecration of new iconography in the rear of the church and of the two new deacon's doors. Reader Andrew Wythe was ordained to the Su-diaconate. His Grace was assisted by Fr. Michael Chendorain, Protopresbyter Robert Rebeck (Allentown, PA) a son of St. John's parish, Protodeacon Greogry Benc and the parish altarboys. Responses were led by Choir Director George Hanas who was honored with a Gramota and conferring of the title "Professor" by His Grace for his many years of dedicated service. A beautiful reception was held at a local banquet facility where the Mayor of Perth Amboy, Wilda Diaz, presented St. John's with a MAyoral Proclamation.
